Selby Scholars Reception
In May, students selected as Selby Scholars attend a celebratory event with their families, Scholarship Selection Committee Members, and the Selby Foundation to team to recognize their accomplishments.
In 2023, the Selby Foundation supported 45 new students who are eligible to receive renewable scholarships to the educational institution of their choice.
In past years, our Selby Symposium has matched community leaders with Selby Scholars. The Symposium provided an opportunity for community leaders to share their knowledge and expertise with a Selby Scholar whose interests are in a similar field. Selby Scholars were encouraged to ask questions regarding their chosen career and community leaders share their experiences, wisdom, and insights.
Today, the Selby Foundation hosts “Flash Mentoring” each year in which Selby Scholars are connected to mentors in their chosen field of study. Together, they meet in person or over Zoom to talk about their work and opportunities in the field.
