Gratitude is expansive whenever it is sincere.
Kind words make a difference. Showing up makes a difference. The people who power nonprofits in our community are present in ways that create reasons to be thankful; they inspire us to show up more often.
Earlier this Fall, our team visited 38 nonprofit organizations in a few weeks. We learned how their boards and staff are taking this moment to focus on the spaces where they can make the biggest difference and lean into existing partnerships with colleagues.
After weathering the hurricanes last year and examining funding changes that impact vulnerable people, leaders continue to express gratitude for their teams of staff, volunteers, board members. Our collective consciousness of the need to take good care of ourselves grows.
While the spirit of thanks feels strongest this time of year, we know that the emerging season of holidays can also be a time of challenge, stress, and loneliness. As you share food, company, and resources with people in our community who have needs, the ripples extend far and wide from every connection.
We are thankful for you and your contributions. May you feel the joy of giving and receiving gratitude in a time that requires all of us to be present.
