In July 2026, the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation welcomed Earl Young to the staff team as Scholarship Manager. Earl will administer the Selby Scholars program, Regional Scholarship Providers Network, and other educational supports for students in the region.
Earl has spent the past 15 years working closely with students preparing for postsecondary education, administering scholarship programs and financial aid, and supporting local nonprofits preparing young leaders for college. He has a strong background in student advising, college access, mentoring, and education success with leadership experience in nonprofit operations, strategic planning, and grant management.
“As a first-generation college student, I experienced firsthand how education can change the trajectory of a family,” said Earl.
“My mother immigrated from Mexico with an eighth-grade education, and the opportunities I received helped shape my future. What keeps me passionate is watching students discover their potential, pursue new opportunities, and accomplish goals they once thought were out of reach.”
Earl is a graduate of the University of South Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
