To address challenges related to COVID-19, the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation has been helping local nonprofit organizations in need. Since March, over $285,000 has been awarded to 36 nonprofit organizations.
The Selby Foundation’s main focus has been in the area of information technology. This was a result of a recently conducted survey by local foundations which concluded that there was an urgent need in this area. Organizations needed the capability for their staffs to work remotely and communication with clients was a critical issue. Funds have been awarded for laptops, software, printers, cameras, etc.
The Selby Foundation has also partnered with local foundations to provide funds for emergency food, extending the Season of Sharing program, and on many grants.
“The Foundation mobilized quickly to respond to immediate needs, and is continuing to focus its gifting on responding to the ongoing crisis” states the Selby Foundation’s President & CEO, Carol Butera.
